           CENTENARY “RANDOM” PAIRS COMPETITION 2011

 

Was won by Paul Thorpe of Walnut Tree and 16 year old Paddy Colebourne of the Brooke Hotel.

It is with sadness the we announce the passing of Roy Winsor (Ex Rice Lane)
Roy was a stalwart for the Civil Defence Bowling League and was also an ex Chairman and Vice President of the same league.
Roy had been ill for some time and our sympathies are sent to Roy's Family.
 
RIP ROY 
 
 

 


Ray Rushton wins League Merit !!

 

 

Ray Rushton of Walnut Tree recently won the Liverpool & District League Merit which took place on his home green. Ray beat Steve Gaynor (Pictured right) in the final 21-15.

Ray then went on a few days later to win the clubs Rose Bowl Tournament. 

 


FORMBY LEAGUE MERIT

 
Paul Thorpe of Walnut Tree won the Formby League Merit on Saturday 18th June which was hosted by Walnut Tree Bowling Club.
Paul Defeated Paul Moreau, also of Walnut Tree 21-7

'HIGGY' Takes the Merseyside Merit !! 
 
 
John Hignett (Higgy) of the Walnut Tree has become the proud winner of the Mersyside Merit after winning it at Upton on Saturday 28th May.
Congratualtions to John on this brilliant achivement from all of his fellow bowlers
John now gains automatic qualification for the Champion of Champions and is        en- route to the Portugal Open later in the year !!

The Walnut Tree is based in Liverpool, England and has been a large part of the local community since 1929 when the public house was built.

 

We are affiliated to the Merseyside County Bowling Association who are in turn affiliated to our governing body the British Crown Green Bowling Association

 

 

 


The Walnut Tree play in a number of local bowling leagues these include the following:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 We also have a number of Ladies teams that play at the Walnut Tree on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons
